Stat Summaries

Agility Increases damage dealt by your abilities and slightly increases critical chance.

Expertise (7.5%) The Expertise cap of 7.5% (2550 Rating) will eliminate your attacks from being dodged. Having this cap and always attacking behind your target is crucial for avoiding high DPS loss. To check your Expertise, open your character panel and then check under the Melee tab for “Expertise.” Make sure it is at or just above 7.5% for your weapon(s).

Melee Hit (7.5%) The Hit cap of 7.5% (2550 Rating) will eliminate the chance for any special ability (including poisons) to miss against a boss. This is the cap regardless of weapon type. Special abilities missing is the easiest way to lose DPS, so always make sure you have this cap. To check your Hit percentage, open your character panel and then check under the Melee tab for “Hit Chance” and make sure it is at or just above 7.5% for your weapon(s).

Haste Increases attack speed and Energy regeneration.

Crit Increases the chance for your attacks to critically hit for 200% damage.

Mastery Mastery: Executioner increases the damage dealt by all finishing moves and increases the effectiveness of Slice and Dice.

Glyph of Ambush Recommended. Allows you to start DPS that much sooner.
Glyph of Feint Recommended. Moderate boost to survivability.
Glyph of Cloak of Shadows Optional. Survivability boost in fights with physical damage.
Glyph of Evasion Optional. Small boost to survivability.
Glyph of Expose Armor Optional. Small damage boost if no other Weakened Armor.
Glyph of Shiv Optional. Small survivability boost with Leeching Poison.
Glyph of Sprint Optional. Good for high movement fights.

Glyph of Safe Fall Recommended. Reduces falling damage.

DPS Rotation & Cooldowns

Single-Target
Poison: Use the following poisons on your weapons.

Lethal: Deadly Poison
Non-Lethal: Leeching Poison

Combo Point Builders: Follow this priority to generate Combo Points.

Ambush Whenever possible. Applies Find Weakness.
Hemorrhage Maintain the Bleed DoT.
Backstab Build CP.

Finishing Moves: Follow this priority to spend Combo Points.

Slice and Dice Maintain at all times.
Rupture Maintain with 5 CP. Applies Sanguinary Vein.
Eviscerate Use with 5 CP.

Your main ability to spam and generate Combo Points with will be either Backstab or Hemorrhage. Backstab should always be your first choice and Hemorrhage should only be used to refresh its bleed DoT or when Backstab and Ambush are unavailable. Beyond that, your highest priority is to keep Slice and Dice active and to maintain Rupture on your target. These two abilities provide the powerful Energetic Recovery and Sanguinary Vein buffs that are essential to your DPS. Spend excess Combo Points on Eviscerate. Also, always try to keep your Energy below 75 so that procs from Relentless Strikes are not wasted.

Thanks to Anticipation your Combo Point management is much easier. Honor Among Thieves CP procs will almost never to go to waste and you can execute the single target priority without fear of losing valuable Combo Points.

Poison: Deadly Poison

AoE Abilities:

Fan of Knives
Crimson Tempest

At 2 targets, use Fan of Knives as your primary Combo Point builder, but continue to spend CP using the single target priority. With 3+ targets, switch to Fan of Knives + Crimson Tempest spam, but continue to maintain Slice and Dice at all times.
